I received my MFA in Acting from the University of California, Irvine and am now on the path to designation in The Linklater Voice Technique. I teach Voice, Movement, Improv, Musical Theatre Improv, and Shakespeare for New York Film Academy and UC Irvine, and design group classes and private coachings upon request.
Having transitioned from the intense world of classical ballet into acting, improvisation, movement, and voice, my teaching is fueled by a passion for presence, listening, physical ease, and freedom. I feel successful as a teacher when my students leave class feeling more inspired, connected, playful, and excited to express themselves.
"Working with Hayley reminds me of the importance of being able to communicate
freely, as an actor and as a human being. Working together, we've begun to
free my voice and re-awaken my ability to communicate unimpeded. It's a big relief
releasing all of that tension!" - Grant Haralson, actor

"Spark is an incredible curated fitness program geared toward creative and performance professionals, but enjoyable for all. More than a good workout, Spark allows you to refocus
and center body and mind. I felt alive. I felt in tune and connected with my body.
My mind felt clear immediately after."
"Hayley is the sweetest soul ever! She guides you through a program that I think benefits performing artists the same way people cross train for sports! I adore her program and 10/10 recommend it to anyone looking for a class to practice your vulnerability, stay in shape,
and say 'yes and!'"
"Spark is the best idea! Hayley creates a safe place for artist and curates a challenging work out routine. Added with the play section at the end of every class it’s hard not to want to come back every week. If you are trying to stay active but need something more creative go to Spark!"
"She's one of the best fitness instructors I've seen in NYC... I had a lot of fun
and I was able to remind myself of what is really fun about theater...
It's actually something affordable which is so hard to find in the city."
"I've always had a rocky relationship with being physical in any way.
This class really made it okay for me to be physical… Not over-pushed or
pressured. I left feeling like my body works."
"Hayley curates an extremely welcoming and fun environment. I have been intimidated by 'fitness' classes in the past but SPARK feels like a rewarding refreshment from the NYC grind and I leave feeling energized and a part of something. Also a great way to meet like-minded positive creative people. I love doing the 'play' section after doing thorough body work."
I'm very excited to discover how SPARK can support this hustling community of NYC artists. I grew up training intensely in classical ballet and danced professionally for several years before entering college. Since then, I've spent years exploring just about every form of movement I could find - yoga, HIIT, barre, contact improv, lifting, running, spinning, silking, and the list goes on! I've gained valuable insight from these experiences about what approaches and environments seem to best supplement my life as an actor and teacher.
